Purity’s Moosic City 5K Dairy Dash

January 15, 2004

Volunteer's Moosic City Crew

Participants from last year’s 3rd Annual Purity’s Moosic City 5K Dairy Dash and Volunteer Express’s Wunder Fun Run where many Volunteer employees and spouses assisted in this event that had over 800 participants and raised $15,000 for the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. The 4th Annual Purity’s Moosic City 5K Dairy Dash and Volunteer Express’s Wunder Fun Run has been set for April 10, 2004. As in previous years the location is Metro Center, with the Fun Run at 7:30 AM and 5K Race at 8:15 AM. The Jason Foundation, A Youth Suicide Prevention Program has been selected to receive all proceeds this year.

The Jason Foundation began its official organizational work in October of 1997. Its intended goal - to take a strong and leading role in the Awareness, Education, and Prevention of Youth Suicide. The main weapon in the battle against the “Silent Epidemic” of youth suicide is education. One of The Jason Foundation’s first projects was to develop seminars aimed at parents, young people, and specific organizations that work with youth. These educational seminars were designed to provide information and statistics about the problems of youth suicide and suggest possible ways of dealing with someone who might be suicidal. In order to reach the large target audience of young adults effectively and efficiently, the youth seminar was further developed into the “A Promise for Tomorrow” educational program. For more information log on to www.jasonfoundation.com.

Everyone is invited to participate in our Dairy Dash/Fun Run. The fee to be a co-sponsor starts at $300.00 with your company or personal name on the back of the T-shirt that each runner will receive. The $500.00 co-sponsors will have their name and logo on the back of each T-shirt. This is an excellent opportunity to advertise as well as help others while doing so, with all donations being tax deductible. Your commitment must be received by February 20th with all monies received before March 1, 2004. Check can be made payable to: Purity Dairies 5K Run, P. O. Box 100047, Nashville, TN 37224.

As usual, Volunteer Express, Inc. goes all out for this event as we proudly honor Glenn Wunder by sponsoring the Wunder Fun Run.   We hope we can count on you to accept this invitation to join us in working for a great cause and a fun filled day for all ages.
